A friend brings us dinner, we get a wonderful card in the mail, a comment lifts our spirits – such appreciated support.

Status: 9.5/10. Team Dan (Bruce and Terry) got a lift up to Hopkins with good friend Laurie Singer for Terry’s evaluation.  My chance to be the patient advocate.

Events:  Terry had the multi-tube blood drawing, EKG, and chest x-ray, and the bone marrow biopsy.  He did great!  What a champ, and what a great brother.  And nice just to spend time with him.

Comments: We’re moving ahead, and looking forward to a successful transplant.  I’ll have an ultrasound later this week, and a consultation with our attending physician.

Love to you all,

We always knew what a great brother you had there, Bruce. But then again, T has a great brother, too. Glad you got to spend some quality time together. We hope everything goes as planned and that you both have an easy time ahead. Please know that we continue to keep you, Lisa and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

B- so post transplant when you have a craving for Hopie’s chopped liver and soccer, you can report that it’s genetics from Terry. Tee hee!!

    Hi Bruce.
I will be in Greece (leaving tomorrow) for the beginning of your transplant hospitalization, so I’m sending you a big pack of good wishes now in the hopes that they will last until I get back.
    Hang in there, Buddy.
You sound great, your attitide is amazing, and I think you might have the best wife in the world, so things should go well.

As an identical twin, I’ve always known of that very special bond siblings can enjoy….but this is a horse of a different color! Great joy in witnessing the love you two share so freely with each other. Yes, you have both been blessed, and my guess is that Bruce would have just a quickly agreed to serve as donor for Terry….that’s love.
Sending you both plenty of mine. Thanks for the example you set for the rest of us.

I keep thinking there is a Randy Newman song out there that captures the essence of you and Terry.

Sounding good… we love that brother of yours too! He is a trouper… Harry and I are so very happy that things are moving right along. We continue to send good thoughts, sincere prayers, and of course love… to you, Terry, Lisa and the children!

I haven’t been involved in all of the evaluations preparatory to a transplant for years, so I find your recitation of daily events amazing. Tomorrow, a mid-saggital section…. I’m sure that you’re wondering about the contribution of each and every test to the assurance of a good outcome or the risk of an adverse one. Sure is great that you’re in such experienced hands and also that you’ve chosen your brother so wisely. Please thank Terry for his genes, his marrow and his love.

Lois and I are leaving hot and humid Nashville for our place in Captiva, Florida for a couple of weeks. Where it is hot and humid. Go figure.

I just was thinking that we’ll be there on Independence Day and since I also was thinking of you, I began to muse about your Founding Doctors putting you through a revolutionary clinical and scientific experience that will result in your independence from AML. And then I thought that I probably ought not to have pursued that metaphor.

In a more mundane mode, you and Lisa and the children (and now Terry) are constantly in our thoughts.
