9-1-10 Wednesday

Status: 8.75/10. Feeling well.

Events:  Quick trip to Hopkins with cousin Blaine.  White cells keep increasing, neutrophils are now right in the middle of the normal range.  Headed in the right direction!

Comments:  An easy day but full of security surprises.  Right across the street from the ABC News bureau is the Mayflower Hotel where Netanyahu and Abass are staying during their talks.  Not surprising are the security vehicles and cordons set up all around the block.

And as we headed back home from Baltimore around 1 PM, we pass the Silver Spring exit off the Beltway, and on the opposite side we see police car after police car scream by at incredible speed, sirens blaring.  There are marked cars, unmarked cars, unmarked vans, unmarked pickup trucks, and an olive drab Hummer.  Perhaps 30-40 vehicles.  I have never seen anything like it – looked like every policeman in Montgomery County was going somewhere.  And indeed they were, as we turn on the radio to find it’s in response to the Discovery hostage situation.

That’s enough excitement for one day, glad to have a respite at home.

Love,

Bruce, we are so glad to hear you are able to “get your life back” (not to be confused with Tony Heyward of BP). Lisa and I had a long conversation last week and it was nice to connect.
    Love to you all,
    Gail

Thanks for sharing this with me, Bruce. Sorry it took so long for me to look at it but I’m glad I waited until I could give it the attention it deserves. I’ll start the “Lisa for sainthood” paperwork ASAP!
