12-6-10   Monday  Day +40

Status: 8.75/10.  A tiring but good weekend.  Brother Terry went home yesterday, and my Mom will be here tomorrow.

Events:  Went to IPOP yesterday (the M-W-F schedule transforms into a Sun-Tues-Thurs appointment every other week).  Counts were great.  Total white cells and neutrophils were in the normal range, and platelets were >100,000 – a long time since I saw that number.

Spend my days trying to get calories in (not an easy task) and resting.  Just hope each day I slowly get better and better.

Comments:   Great seeing Mom tomorrow.  The one person I know who was at my real birthday.  Looking forward to a good week – you, too!

Love,

-Bruce

We are so glad you are coming along so well. I have a question: All your blood precursor cells are donor; but all your non-replaceable cells–neuro, muscle, etc.–must still be original. What about your other cells that routinely turn over–like GI mucosa, epidermis, and cells that can regenerate–liver, etc.? I suppose those are still original BD. So now you are at least a mosaic (if not a chimera). Correct me if I’m wrong. Joel S.
