Dearest Lisa, We never lose the people we love. even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. Every time that I saw you either in iPop/iHop, the lobby of JH, or at Spinnker Bay, the love that you shared with Bruce was so evident. Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family. 11. Johnny De Philo Says:

Dear Lisa, sweet, Lisa – we cried as we read the sad news about Bruce. Even though we knew he was so very ill, it still came as a shock. What a wonderful force of nature, your Bruce! He moved the bar for all of us, but in a way that inspired, nudged as us to run with him, dance with him, get scared with him. With his intellectual prowess, both rigorous, critical and playful in turns, Bruce made what could have been an utterly horrific journey into one of hope, and optimism and love, especially love, in the face of it all.

And there is a lot of love out there, Lisa. I hope you and Rachel and Ethan, not to mention the great folks at Johns Hopkins, the anonymous donor, and all those on ‘team Bruce’ will be able to feel it, too, and in spades especially during this very very difficult time.

Call, skype, email or write at any point if you need or want to speak; we are here for you. We Love You, Lisa.

kisses to you and Rachel and Ethan

And a special note to all those of you out there in web land and the other more traditional ways of contacting and being there supporting and encouraging and sharing your wisdom and love and stories for my dear brother Bruce and his most amazing heroine Lisa and the kids, Rachel and Ethan.:
I am grateful and thankful and couldn’t be more amazed how many of you showed up and delivered in so many ways when it really counted. It was a long road and you hung in there which says a lot about Bruce and you.

Know that even from here in San Diego, I could here the voices rejoicing in his triumphs, and being there in true empathy and inspiring him to move onward with a tremendous show of strength. to grab a hold of. I for one am honored to have had the pleasure of knowing you. With great respect, I say, I wish for you the same in your time of need. Love Bruce’s little sister., wendy

My heartfelt, sincerest love and condolences to all of Bruce’s dear family. I knew him quite well during our Vanderbilt Medical School days and residency days in the 70’s. Bruce always spoke so loving about his mother, Hope, and all of his family. He was brilliant Bruce, so well spoken, such a gentleman. I only learned of his passing yesterday in the Vandy alumni magazine. I was terribly saddened and shocked. Every time I see Lisa on ABC news i tell my family she is married to a very good old friend of mine from Vandy who loves his family, loves music, was a good dancer and knew where to get good pizza in Nashville in the 70’s. May God’s eternal blessings be to you all. Again, I am so sorry to learn of Bruce’s passing. Phillipians 3:20-21
